Marketing calculators
Learn key marketing metrics. Plug in your own numbers, understand the formula. Like a SIP calculator — teaches the concept, not a prediction.
CPM calculator
Cost Per Mille — what you pay per 1,000 impressions. The most common metric for comparing sponsorship and media costs across platforms.
What's a good CPM? It depends on the medium. Digital display: ₹30–150. TV sports: ₹200–600. Premium sports (IPL): ₹350–500. Entertainment: ₹100–300. Lower CPM ≠ better — reach quality and audience fit matter more.
Campaign ROI calculator
Return on Investment — measures how much value a campaign generates relative to its cost. The universal metric for justifying marketing spend.
How to read this: 100% ROI = you doubled your money. 250% = you made 2.5× your spend. Negative ROI = campaign cost more than it returned. Most brand campaigns target 150–300% ROI. Experiential activations often see 200–500% when attribution is set up properly.
Cost per engagement
CPE — what each meaningful interaction costs you. Used across social, experiential, and creator campaigns. More useful than CPM when audience quality matters.
What counts as engagement? Likes, comments, shares, clicks, dwell time, QR scans, booth visits — depends on the campaign. Social media CPE: ₹2–20. Creator campaigns: ₹5–40. Experiential (per booth visit): ₹50–300. Define "engagement" before the campaign starts.
Earned media value
EMV — estimates the value of organic/free coverage by comparing it to what you'd pay for equivalent paid media. Widely used but debated.
Use with caution. EMV is useful for comparing earned vs. paid efficiency, but it doesn't mean you "earned" that much money. A viral social post with 5M impressions at ₹250 CPM = ₹12.5L EMV — that's what it would have cost to buy those impressions, not what they're worth.
Sponsorship valuation basics
How to estimate what a sponsorship asset is worth. Not a single formula — it's a framework combining media value, exclusivity, and activation potential.
The multiplier depends on: Property prestige (IPL title = 3–5×, ISL = 1.2–2×), category exclusivity (sole sponsor in a category adds 20–50%), activation rights (on-ground, digital, hospitality), and audience quality. Premium properties command higher multipliers because the brand association itself has value beyond raw eyeballs.
Reach & frequency
The foundation of media planning. Reach = how many unique people see your message. Frequency = how many times each person sees it. GRPs combine both.
How many GRPs do you need? Brand awareness campaigns: 200–400 GRPs. New product launch: 400–800 GRPs. The rule of thumb is 3+ frequency for recall. But in sponsorship, one high-impact moment (a match, a concert) can achieve in 1 exposure what display ads need 6+ exposures for.
